Key Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic and therapeutic nuclear medicine procedures using radiopharmaceuticals under general supervision.
- Utilize Siemens C Cam and Siemens Intivo Spect/CT cameras for high-quality imaging.
- Review provider orders and collaborate with Radiologists to ensure accurate exam preparation and execution.
- Prepare, calibrate, and administer radiopharmaceuticals by injection, ingestion, or inhalation.
- Conduct SPECT imaging and evaluate recorded images for technical quality.
- Maintain detailed logs of daily activities and ensure proper storage and ordering of supplies.
- Perform daily quality assurance tests and preventive safety inspections on all nuclear medicine equipment.
- Provide radiation protection to patients, staff, and self by adhering to safety standards and operating radiation detection equipment effectively.
- Demonstrate a thorough working knowledge of all imaging equipment in the department.
- Position patients correctly based on the anatomy under investigation to optimize procedural effectiveness.
Qualifications
- Certification or licensure as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist.
- Experience in nuclear imaging, particularly with Siemens C Cam and Intivo Spect/CT equipment.
- Proficiency in preparation and administration of radiopharmaceuticals.
